“I became acquainted with Jace when he did some tree work for my mother, among which was taking down a very large tree in a difficult spot that had a split near the top. It was quite an unusual situation. He did an excellent job in a very timely manner. I was quite impressed with Jace and his work along with his honesty, fairness and integrity. He is genuinely concerned about the work he does for his customers and the price he charges them. If I ever need tree work done in the future, I would not hesitate to hire Jace again, and would recommend him to anyone needing his services.”

We were called to remove deadwood and prune this mature tulip poplar tree in Chester Illinois. When the climber reached the upper canopy he found a 4 foot long vertical crack in between the 2 main stems of the tree. The homeowner was immediately made aware of the situation and she agreed that removal was the best option, seeing as the tree was between her house and the neighbors. A failure of this split union would have caused one or both houses to be severely damaged.

The climber then went back up into the canopy and placed 2 high-strength ratchet straps to give the upper canopy some support until the crew could be assembled for removal the following morning. The tree was then methodically disassembled by the climber as there was no access for a bucket truck so the entire job was climbed. All limbs and trunk were rigged down with ropes. In the last picture you can see the climber making some of the final cuts above the crack, as evident by the ratchet straps below him.

These pictures are obviously of the tree on the ground, this is what the crack looked like up close. All of the tree and debris was removed from the property, the stump was cut low and the entire yard was raked up.
